Ryan Reynolds was rumored to play The Flash in a big screen adaptation but the project basically fell through. Now that a JLA movie is in the works, he tells MTV News that he may still play the role, just not in a solo movie:
"'The Flash' isn't dead at all. There's talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there's other talk of doing a 'Flash' movie with [director] Shawn Levy."Rumors of a Justice League movie have gained momentum in recent weeks. Now we're hearing it straight from one of the potential stars' mouths. When asked if he thought the JLA film might happen first, Reynolds told us, "[it] might, yeah. I don't really know how much I'm allowed to talk about that stuff. But I'm sure they'll figure out something. It's no secret that they have a JLA script and it's a project that's in development - the contents of which, who knows. We'll see."
I was the front-runner to play The Flash, but the producers said my abs were too defined. Guess they decided to go with somebody who wasn't quite as fit.

Nobody better suited for this role. He is PERFECT. If they dont cast him, this movie will SUCK. Even if they get Christian Bale and Brandon Routh to play their respective characters.

I liked Ryan Reynolds when we called him Jason Lee. Nah that's not true - I never liked him. I didn't really even like him when he went by Jason Lee. But good work finding an un-Brody like photo of him. Amazing work in fact.

Perfect casting!! I just read that Christian Bale and Brandon Routh aren't gonna be in the JLA movie, although Batan and Superman will be in the movie. Should be interesting to see who's gonna play Batman and Superman.

Simply Ryan Reynolds is ur go to guy when it comes to a superher (or a villain like deadpool) where u wanna combine the rippled muscular body with the smart-ass attitude!
And hey luxie, yes these are his real abs! u can check the movie trinity that torturing scene was off the chain! I mean guy spent 5 month before the movie on his body working his ass off at the gym and he used to do like 2000 sit-ups a day! what do u expect???
I cant wait to see the wolverine movie and the flash character whaterver movie it's in!

I believe ryan would be purfect for the role as The Flash not as Green Lantern.

Wally West isn't 33 years old in the comics. He gets his superspeed as at 10 or 12 years old and marries Linda Park West in his mid to late 20s. Reynolds is is past his prime for Wally West. Omit Reynolds. Reynolds is GREEN LANTERN. if he was going to do The Flash it would have happend already in the late 2000s or late 1990s. Anybody, but Ryan Reynolds.
