Aug 24 2007American Gladiators is returning to TV

Don't have a boner? Let me help you out with that. Variety reports that NBC has decided to resurrect American Gladiators. The new version will focus on the reality aspect of the show, such as the back stories of contestants as well as following their training, etc. The show will feature eight gladiators (four men and four women) though there's no word if any of the originals like Nitro or Turbo will return. Although I'm kind of hoping they just bring in wild gorillas, dress them up in spandex, and let them beat the contestants to death.

Check out the above clip for a lesson in awesome.

great idea as long as they bring back malibu

These were always fun to watch...the Gladiators were LAUGHABLE, never mind the competition.

I wonder how any of them would stack up on the Viking challenges in Japan. D:

while american gladiators was the greatest thing on tv sunday afternoons, the nintendo game was much better.

when i read this one of the first things that came to mind was an episode of who's the boss featuring nitro and ice

hey. is american gladiators coming back on TV?

Best episodes - when the Gladiators took on ex-Olympians or the Armed Forces teams. The entire show was hilarity in spandex.

And Dan "Nitro" Clark is currently tied up (seriously, no pun intended) with doing the Ty Murray show on CMT, but who knows if he'll come back as a commentator or something.

i hope they also bring back Gladiators 2000. (G-3000?)
