Jul 9 2007The 11th Hour Trailer
Continuing the trend put forth by An Inconvenient Truth, actor/actvist Leonardo DiCaprio has enlisted a team of documentary filmmakers to make his own plea for environmental change. From what I can gather from the trailer, he seems to be suggesting humans might in some way be responsible for destroying the earth. Interesting idea, but "wrath of God" seems like a much simpler and more popular explanation.

Live Earth failed in the exact way I (and probably many others) hoped it wouldn't: it was a full day of free advertising featuring smiling millionaires and scored by some white chick playing her guitar LIVE from a Starbucks open mic. Sigh. This trailer at the very least had some tension and threat kinda like the impending end of all things that we've paid so well for.
ANSWER THAT CALL!
The only person who I saw on screen yesterday that I would answer a call from was Phil Collins and that would only be to tell him NOT to come off this Genesis tour and score another DIsney film. In fact I'd tell him to never score another Disney film again.

What kind of success were you hoping for proteon? That Live Earth tripe was a fund raiser, where is the money going to go? Even if it wasn't a bunch of crappy musicians more focused on self-promotion than the environment, and even if they did/do make a junkload of money to support the cause, where does the money go?
Lets be honest, unless everyone gives up half the stuff that makes life livable, nothing is going to change...and that is if and only if global warming is manmade...which I still have not heard a convincing argument for.
I love how they bring up hurricanes as an example of how drastically the climate is changing...last year they predicted that the hurricane season would be the worst in history, we had zero hurricanes...
In the history of man, the temperature has fluxuated drastically in both directions, and yet somehow after measuring the temperture since the industrial age, we assume that a 1.5 degree increase in average temperature within that time is due to our carbon dioxide emissions. STUPID. One bad hurricane (Katrina) and we predict the worst hurricane season ever?
Well, The Sixth Sense was awesome, I suppose everything that M. Night does is also awesome.

Good comment, monotony. Leo says that there is no room for debate... guess that leading scientists like Dr. Gray at CSU and Dr. Lindzen at MIT don't get to share their opinion that anthropogenic global warming doesn't exist, or at least that humans haven't had a significant affect on the global temps. I love how the nutcases get together to worship the earth at these concerts though... fun times. I think I will go out and buy a gas-guzzling jet like Travolta and travel the USA, only instead of promoting global warming hogwash, I will go on my own "Save the World from Warm-Mongering" tour.

These rich jerks use ten times the energy any of us schmoes do.
And yesterday morning I read all this news of how "Live Earth is HUGE success"
It's like the whole thing was orchestrated. Like the newspapers were already printed a month ago. Then Leo comes out with this. Then they come out with the first "GREEN" airliner. It's all coordinated to manipulate our minds with the end result being all of us paying "eco credits" or whatever to lower OUR carbon footprint while all those rock starts piss away more energy a day than any of us could if we ran every appliance, electric device, air conditioner/heater we own at once.
I am all for keeping the earth as clean as possible, even if global warming is a crock. I don't want to live in a trash can. But all of these rich b-tards are hypocrites.

hahaha: "Lets be honest, unless everyone gives up half the stuff that makes life livable, nothing is going to change"...yeah, using a different kind of light bulb is really fucking intolerable. THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL THE COMMIES ARE TAKING MY SUV AWAY! THEY JUST WANT AN EXCUSE TO DESTORY THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE!!!!

Did anyone find it at all strange that an environmental film trailer would have the same song playing as the Transformers trailer? We can never fix the ills of the world when we're racing to theaters for robot cars. Damn i love me some of them transforming cars!

As if I was talking about lightbulbs. Although does anybody find it at all strange that everyone of these little ecofriendly products tends to cost more than the regular ones. I mean, I know that some work went into the development, but is it necessary that a piece of shit Prius cost a few grand more than a Civic? The same applies to fancy dimmer more economic lightbulbs costing $1.50 more than a good old fasion lightbulb which actually allows you to read when it's dark (not to mention fitting a lampshade).
Anyhow, I do love my SUV, and you can kiss my ass.

keywords: "more economic", dumbass. as in they actually end up lasting longer and saving you money by using less electricity?
yeah i'm sure you love pointlessly blowing cash out your ass filling up the tank for your retarded suv...and here you are trying to come off as frugal. haha, how entertaining.
