Marky Mark Wahlberg, rappin' underwear model/actor sextroardinaire, recently seemed to confirm that Darren Aronofsky will be directing his latest project, Fighter.
“The Fighter” tells the true story of underdog boxing champ “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and his trainer/brother Dick Eklund (Damon), following their lives from the rough-and-tumble streets of Lowell, Massachusetts to an internationally-herald [sic] bout at the world championships.
Says Wahlberg: “The whole thing is to make it look real,” he said. “I want to do these guys justice. We don’t want to do any over-the-top, unrealistic fight scenes.”
You want nothing over-the-top, so you got... Darren Aronofsky? The guy whose drug movie included amputated arms, cracked out grandma's, and chicks going butt to butt at a party? Whose love story included both knights and spacemen? Personally, I blame the Massachusetts public school system.

As a boxing fan, this could be decent. As an avid porno fan, I'd stray away from the title.
Although Micky Ward is way too fresh in recent memory for a biopic. I mean, his last fight was probably four years ago and he's still training Arturo Gatti. Dig a little further back, Hollywood.

what does that even mean its called fighter I dont get that.
But about this movie I think it is going to be really good - aronofsky is a great director up there with the best of the new crowd and even if you dont like rfad or the fountain you have to admit that he can get you to have emotions for the characters as good as anyone. And this could go along the lines of harrys and ty's friendship. When they use in the beginning and then after their one big score you can really see how good their friendship is - those scenes are really powerful. And if you know about Dick he had a pretty bad couple of years with drugs and robbing people for it. My only thing is Matt Damon Im not sure he is right but I like him in his other stuff so well see.
