Jul 27 2007Comic Con is Haute

Nacho cheese being the color that it is, you can never have too many t-shirts!

Looking to impress the ladies down at your favorite Hollywood hotspot? You'll be down right irresistible in this Star Trek t-shirt, the summer's hottest accessory!

In case you've never been to Comic Con, it involves bored-looking, criminally underdressed Hooters waitresses and semi-employed model/actresses passing out t-shirts like the one you see above while trying not to look repulsed by guys like this and this and this. There, I just saved you $50.

If you're in San Diego in July, I recommend the beach. There are just as many hot girls in skimpy outfits, and some of them are even underage!

This writer is an asshole.

You always were a pussy, Reed. Quit getting all butt-hurt.

it really is funny how much worse the writing is for this site than the superficial. the difference is, when you're hating on celebrities it's mostly justified, when you hate on the comic con, you're probably hating on half of your readership.

It's self-hatred, wordnugz. Have a heart.

Also, I enjoy the bored sarcasm, irreverence to the Narcissistic Hollywood Machine and self-deprecation this site serves up. It's easy to think of funny jokes about Lindsay Lohan doing anal for Sudafed. It requires much more effort to think of something witty to say about every single (bland) new flick that comes out.

Go squeeze another pimple and stop being so sensitive.

I like how I can rip on anything and everything with impunity, but the minute I rip on comic-con people get sensitive.

I lived in San Diego for 7 years. I've been to comic con and feel I described it fairly accurately. The whole thing sort of smacks of making people pay to watch commercials. I thought it was sort of lame. And honestly, who the fuck is actually going to wear the bullshit promo t-shirts they pass out? At least they could make them cool. Slusho sort of makes a half-assed attempt, but jeez...

And thanks, Mel. *sniff* We movie bloggers are just so misunderstood sometimes...

Goon.

C'mon guys, I go to Comic Con every year and it sounds like a fairly accurate discription. Except I usually spend waaaay more that $50.

And those pictures as examples don't even begin to cover the weirdness. Wait till the pics come out for the dress up contest.

Let's just let the dorks be dorks.
