Jul 26 2007Cloverfield teaser poster

cloverfield-poster.jpg

The teaser poster for J.J. Abrams' secret project Cloverfield has been released, although a leaked version originally had the word 'monsterous' across the top which has been mysteriously left out. The film still doesn't have a title, but sources have confirmed (contrary to speculation on the internet) that the monster isn't a parasite and isn't a giant robot (like Voltron). Which basically leaves Godzilla. Or aliens. Or my aunt Ruth. I'd go with Ruth, but I don't think the world is ready for a movie that scary. Put on a bra!

Whoa! Look at that trail left in the water.... something pretty big was there. I seriously think it is Godzilla. I would love a new but MUCH better version to be done. The whole secret project is good stuff.

os hit!

os hit!

I'm thinking Leviathan or Cthulhu.

I have heard it's "RAMPAGE:THE MOVIE" seriously. Also, AICN is reporting that it is named "Monstrous"

the trailers on apple.com

Has anyone considered the idea that the movie is actually titled "1-18-08", in a nod to 9/11/01? Considering the way they use camcorders to recreate that "you only know what you see" feeling of panic that almost all 9/11 footage has, it's not too much to think the title is worked that way, too.

Seeing as theirs no head to the statue of liberty, i'd have to say its the Red Queen. That would make alot of sense seeing as she's always yelling.. OFF WITH HER HEAD!.

What if "01-18-08" is the title?

BEN! I'm totally thinking the same thing. Right when i saw this poster... I thought of this:

1.18.08... some people HAVE thought of that!!!! good of you to join the bandwagon

I heard speculation that it's actually Biblical monsters fighting it out in NYC. Leviathan is the sea monster, Behemoth is the land monster, and Ziz is the air monster. Some people spent a lot of time pointing out some hints in the trailer.

It's that nigga mist from Lost.

"Cloverfield" makes me want to eat cock -- and that is not a common thing.

Sisco : The Biblical Leviathan is a crocodile and Behemoth is a hippo. Most bible scholars agree on this. And Ziz is based on a Jewish fairy tale and is not mentioned in the Bible. I don't see it likely that this is Cloverfield's theme.

Considering the trailer mentions that the character is going to Japan, and the anime-themed Slusho stealth site is now linked with Cloverfield, my guess is it is a Godzilla-like monster movie, but it's not Godzilla. It's probable that "Monstrous" is the title, IMHO.

It's Rosie.

godzilla shoots rockets these days?

It's obvious who the monster is...it's FRANK STALLONE.

Wow, a poster featuring a damaged Statue of Liberty for a movie concerning a mysterious, near apocalyptic event. That's new.

I'm not sure if 100% agree its going to be some biblical monster. However, if you take time to find out what verse of the bible is exactly in the middle(i'm a fan of useful/useless trivia. and you can google it too) you find it is in the book of Psalms. More specifically, Psalms Chapter 118 Verse 8. "It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.". Ch.118 v.8=1-18-08.

Its getting everyone excited including me and its gonna turn out to be another Godzilla movie, i have nothing again Godzilla i just expected more from a movie with a trailor as cool as that one, but if u look at the statue of liberty in the poster you can clearly see the claw marks of Godzilla as it ripped of the head.

If it's a godzilla like movie, what if its godzilla's son Zilla grown up? Its a pretty good theory I think.

look at the right cloud thats the monster

if you look at the poster between the buildings that are smoking close to the water you can see the mosters face

I cant see the monster face, and i really hope its not another Godzilla movie!
