In keeping with the heated political discussions we've recently been having in the iwatchstuff.com comments section, today I bring you the news that Lionsgate will be releasing Bill Maher and Larry Charles' anti-religion documentary, A Spiritual Journey.
The film is said to “examine the presence of religion in many of the big news stories of recent years, from Muslim riots over cartoons to the Ten Commandments in front of courthouses, a born-again Christian in the White House and Scientology in the birthing room," and director Charles describes it as “Bill Maher vs. the Anti-Christ (or is Bill Maher the Anti-Christ?)”
I have no knowledge of whether he's the anti-Christ, but I do know that he's banged Ann Coulter, and if Joaquin Phoenix has taught me anything, it's that, "You dance with the devil, the devil don't change - the devil changes you."
He also taught me that hairlips can be sexy. No trailer for this yet, but stay tuned.

Wikipedia does indeed: "Maher and republican media voice Ann Coulter confirmed a short lived relationship on Fox News' O'Reilly Factor, that occurred in 1994 while Maher circuited in California.[citation needed]"
She's also listed in his girlfriends section on NNDB.
I also remember reading something about her saying something nasty on his show and him coming back with "She doesn't look like that when she comes." but I couldn't find anything on the internets about it.

Well, atheism is growing by leaps and bounds right now, partially due to the galvanization of the religious right over the past 10 years or so. I'd say this was a jumping on the bandwagon type of thing, but Maher has been vocal about religion for long enough. I've been an atheist for about 10 years or so. I'll check it out. If it's as funny as Real Time, I'll enjoy it.
Ann's separation from Bill obviously drove her insane:

I agree that Ann Coulter is completely over the top, and manly for that matter. However, I do think that she usually holds her own in an argument, and usually backs up her opinions with facts (either data or historical truths).
What she said about Germany happens to be true and factual. Whether her opinion that we should do the same now holds any water would be the question...and only one opinion, albeit probably the wrong one.

I don't get it vanman, you want to debunk what I just said...meaning you think Anne Coulter is not manly, that she is not wrong about carpet bombing Iraq, that she is not in fact over the top, that what she holds is in fact not an opinion?..
It is one thing to disagree with everything someone says, but please, first read it.
I am not defending Coulter as a whole, just stating the obvious that there is a reason for her success, and as a whole, a lack of will for many to directly attack her or her points of view. There is a reason why she gets away with saying some of the things she says that others such as Rush or Hannity could not get away with.

No, what I was speaking about was you stating that she backs up her statements and opinions with facts. Too many times she has made wild statements and when immediately called to task, she couldn't justify her remarks. The secret to her success is simply shock value. That is all.

I hate to say this but EM is correct and I think is a bit scared of the outnumbered here in opinion. Coulter is out of her mind over the top? Absolutely, but like Maher (who you all must think is just the *picture* of sanity) Ann uses that tactic to get the spotlight on her and her views. She has many honest, and factual views on things and like EM said, thats war, you don't just bomb civilians, but if you take out a whole enemy collective and a small child died in the collateral, nowadays the war is declared lost by us because of such. These fucking people WANT our civilians dead, Im not saying it gives us the right, but when someone is cheating, and you are held to play at a rediculous standard that is im-fucking-possible it makes guys like me and my friends in the service think twice about defending some of you crazy bleeding heart types.
Getting back to Ann, yes, she's over the top. That's her schtick. She's not a pundit, she's an political entertainer like Maher is. Were you at all outraged when he wished death on Cheney? Probably not because you're so indoctrinated to see him as 'the man' and my friends one day if you keep following these talking points religiously and believing that giving MORE power to your government is the right idea you're gonna wake up in 1984. The book not the year in case any of you aren't readers.
Is Ann always correct? GOD no! However, her books *do* speak alot about the glaring hypocrisy of the other side of the fence. Being a Rebuplican is considered evil by default and many of you buy that without bothering to research anything beyond youb comfortably sanitized (of conservative opinions that is) web-blogs like huffington and DKos. These places btw which will ban you if you say anything *off* topic of the liberal agenda (don't believe me? try it out yourself.)
We should encourage MULTITUDES of opinions, not just the ones that matter to us. Even people who only have garbage and BS to say, they have a right and I encourage their contribution. Because those who HAVE the facts will prove them wrong and, hopefully, the person defeated will then be driven to educate themselves and eventually become part of the educated discussion rather than just parroting crap that's super cliche such as 'Bush is the devil!' or 'Kill Capitalism.'
I'll leave a quote which if you're up on your politics you'll know who it was by. This is how I can understand how some can be so glaringly liberal, but proof in the pudding that with age, people become more wise.

This isnt about politics, this is about facts vs. what popular culture wants to sell you the people as the 'correct view' of the world. That is kill Hannity and Limbaugh, kiss Bill Maher's ass, Clinton was a saint and Bush is just some crazy redneck trying to kill your freedoms. Nothing could be further from the truth.
