Jun 12 2007Mr. Wizard Dead at 89

Mr. Wizard survived hundreds of dangerous vinegar/baking soda concoctions.
Don Herbert, the former children's TV science host better known as Mr. Wizard, died this morning after a long battle with an evil, more powerful wizard.
Just kidding! As usual, it was cancer that beat science once again. It's really a sad loss for the kid's science television show community, which will now have to hand over leadership to the slightly more obnoxious Bill Nye or the vastly more obnoxious Beakman.

Ohhhhhhhhh man now I need antidepressants. I grew up on Mr. Wizard in the late 80s and early 90s.
RIP you crazy old coot. And thanks for the memories.

That saddens me. I watched him all the time when I was a kid (back when Nickelodeon showed things like that). In fact, I was just talking about him yesterday - we got a tank of liquid nitrogen here at work, and I was telling my co-workers we need to go all Mr. Wizard and freeze some rubber balls or hot dogs in it and then throw them on the floor and watch them shatter.
R.I.P. Mr. Wizard. :(

This is just sad. Someone better hire security guards for Moose from You Can't Do That On Television, or I may lose it.

Mister Wizard brought great joy to untold numbers of us who loved watching him. Just thinking of this wonderful person makes me feel you nagain. It is a shame what with all the old TV programs now being shown on satalite, there are not shows from the 50s and 60s of his type. Mr. Wizard will always be in our hearts.
