The MTV movie blog has an exclusive clip from Hairspray. This is noteworthy in the sense that, in less than two minutes, it manages to squeeze in almost everything I hate about bad movies: stilted dialogue, cross dressing, poorly executed regional accents, "sassy" black people saying "sassy" things for "comic" relief, bad fat jokes, ugly people, and many more. Since watching this clip, I have the sudden urge to suck ten dicks.

The only reason the MTV movie blog has an "exclusive" clip is because their representative was in the restroom when this turd of a movie clip was being shown in the meeting.
These are probably the same people who decided Daddy Day Camp was a winning idea.

This shouldn't be happening. Divine was the body and soul of all his characters and Edna Turnblad is not an exception. I would never have believed 20 years ago in 1988, that John Waters would do something like this now. This is not the John Waters I have come to know and respect as a filmmaker. Truly, this is a showcase for the industry with names like Zac Efron, Amanda Byrnes, among others. We should let the musical and original cult film rest on their own merits. John Travolta as Edna? God, might as well let him portray Dr. Frank N Furter in a remake of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". This is living proof that Hollywood no longer cares for its treasures. There were remakes in the past but it wasn't as monotonous and ridiculous as it is now. Young people who have recently jumped on the "Hairspray" remake "bandwagon" obviously don't know Waters' past works and I will laugh my ass off when they are repulsed by a shot of Divine chewing off an umbilical cord.
off when they watch "Female Trouble" and "Mondo Trasho" for the first time!
