Jun 22 2007First Shot of Elderly Indiana Jones
An elderly but reasonably fit elderly gentleman was seen reclining in canvas director's chair yesterday. A photo of the man, taken by an S. Spielberg, shows that he wore a dusty fedora and appeared wistful.

As implausible, yet awesome, a Nazi punching, holy grail finding, archaeologist, is, I think it might be pushing it to have audiences believe that at 60+ years old he would still think he could do all that.

My question is, did they get the original whip, Jacket and Hat used in the 3 previous movies to use again in this movie from the American History Museum in Washington DC.

I think he looks surprisingly great. And most of the 60+ year-olds I know can run rings around people half their age, honestly. 60 is not what it used to be.

At long last, the first glimpse of Indiana Jones and Those Good-For-Nothing Kids Who Better Get Off His Lawn. Rock!

Hey isn't that Calista Flockhart over his shoulder? Oh, nevermind. Just a broomstick. So easy to get the two confused.

C'mon guys it's Indy !!! Sure Ford is 64 but do you think Spielberg or Ford are going to let Lucas wreck the saga as he did with his 3 new star wars (which sucked badly), no...
60 is not what it used to be that is certain, and I bet Indy is still gonna kick ass, or get his ass kicked but at least in an awesome way.
Can't wait !

raiders of the lost social security check is a more appropriate title

I grew up worshiping Indiana Jones, I don't care how old Harrison Ford is, when this film comes out, I'll still run to the theater like I'm seven years old again.....and I'd run to one they made if he was eighty. Indiana Jones is Indiana Jones, no matter how old he is.

I knew the only way this movie would work is if they put him in the same outfit he was wearing in the first flick to give us the fucking moron viewer the idea that the last twenty or so years of aging on his face, frame, voice hair etc are all to fall under "suspension of disbelief".

My heart just skipped a beat...I don't care how old he is. Harrison Ford has still got it. If I marry a man who looks half that good at 64 I'll be a lucky lady.

There would be nothing wrong with him wearing the same jacket. A properly maintained leather jacket lasts almost forever. I have an Air Force issue one that took five years just to break in properly. I got one cuff replaced at the 15 year mark, and it's going just fine.
What I think will be funniest will be watching the character live in the post-WWII world. There was a big jump between 1938 and 1958. Advances in air travel made it easier to get from A to B, and there was far more likely to be law, order, and government when you got there. A lot of the lawless, barnstorming age had passed.

And I forgot, during Spielberg's "Young Indiana Jones" series, there were modern-day scenes with Indy as a lively old man. He was still wearing the jacket.

How old was Connery in the 3rd one, and he rawked shit hawt, so I have hope.
If anyone is going to disappoint it will be Spielberg. You would have thought knowing what a cash cow Transformers was going to be, he would have gotten that ADD suffering joke of a director Bay to take some ritalin before filming, but instead we get the sad, SAD state that is the Transformers movie. Sad.
