Jun 6 2007Denzel Caps Fools: American Gangster Trailer

Aight, look y'all: Jerry Bruckheimer hates us and that ain't never gonna change
The trailer for Ridley Scott's Russell Crowe/Denzel Washington gangster flick American Gangster is now online.
Personally, I loved Gladiator, but sometimes the Chris Nolan-school-of-editing style bugged the shit out of me:
Closeup of Russell Crowe looking tense - cut to
Closeup of sword blade - cut to
Blurry thing with loud sound - cut to
Long shot of dead guy - cut to
Closeup of Russell Crowe looking satisfied
Luckily, in this one he'll be dealing with gun fights and not sword fights, and judging by the preview, it doesn't look like it's a problem. And my favorite Denzel movie was Training Day, where he was also playing a sort of ruthless hardass. I don't know, yay or nay, how say you?

Denzel is always a piece of shit, playing the same tired role (Arrogant Black Man Who's Angry at the World) in every movie he ever does.
Fuck it, it's another shitty movie. Not EVER going to see it.

Jesus Christ, why do you still think this Jerry Bruckheimer joke is still funny? It was mildly amusing the first and maybe second time because it was so random and unexpected, but now it really seems like you're some bitter asshole who's begging for a libel suit or, more likely, that kid in grade school who thinks up a funny joke, then beats it in to the ground trying to milk it for way too long. Please, for the sake of this site's entertainment quality (usually quite good) please drop it. It's so lame and unfunny at this point that it's actually starting to piss me off.

What's a "ganster?"
In other words, it's spelled "gangster!"

Yeah, this Bruckheimer thing is not funny. And you know what, Denzel does play a lot of the same rolls. But they are ALWAYS entertaining. I have never been disappointed in Denzel Washington.

Is this a Denzel Washington vehicle, or a vehicle for Common to get some more screen time in that ridiculous hat?
