Jun 6 200730 Days of Night Teaser Poster

30-days-of-night-poster.jpg

In 30 Days of Night, based on the graphic novel series, some vampires move to Alaska to take advantage of the month of darkness geography provides the area, allowing the bastards to drink blood all day without the burden of daylight. It's probably the most clever move in vampire history.

I feel like the poster really captures the mood of, "Arrrggghhh! I'm sick of this! It's been like a month of darkness, plus we've got these vampires, so it's not just the lack of light bothering me!" Looking again, I think it's actually a vampire, so maybe the mood is more, "Arrrrggghhh! I am really loving this 30 days of night! Best vampire idea yet!" You decide.

Well, it would have been a good movie, except it stars Josh Hairnet and is directed by the guy who did Hard Candy.

you are such a fucking riot

I still have faith that the movie will stay relatively faithful to the source material...

Faith is a fucking funny word.

Yeah, that's where I'd go if I was a vampire!

This idea was stolen from a Tales from the Crypt episode. I'm still watchin.... YOU.

The vampire's teeth were like that in the source material.

I for one hope they don't stick too close to the source material. 30 Days of Night was a disappointment to me. Such an interesting idea and Niles and Templesmith failed to capitalize on it.

I am interested to learn Tales from the Crypt did it too. I wonder if they did it any better.

As an aside, I'm sure it will annoy Alaskans too, as there aren't any Sheriff's departments in Alaska.

But did they think at all about the following 30 or so days of continuous day light in the summer???
