Mar 22 2007Starbucking Trailer

I'm not sure if this is actually new, but I was shown the trailer for Starbucking today and I'm fairly saddened by its content. It's about this pathetic guy, possibly afflicted with OCD, who wants to do something no one has done before by visiting every Starbucks in the world. Of course, we rational humans understand that this goal is impossible. Starbucks are popping up at some insane rate of like three a day in every nation that allows coffee to mix with sweeteners.

Honestly, he'd be better off counting sand on the beach; it's just as impossible but there's less traveling, and a "Venti" sand won't cost you $6 and two days' calorie intake.

I saw this documentary at a film festival and it's pretty good. Strange as the guy is he has a very interesting philosophy. It all turns out to be pretty funny.

I am an American living in Ireland (not near a Starbucks as all) and I really miss my Starbucks. My family here (wife's family) think I am crazy because I won't drink their crap instant coffee (if you can call it coffee) and because I will drive 3 hours to Belfast just to get a REAL coffee. Winter is my hero. I hope to meet him if he ever makes it to Ireland.

Wow that looks lame as hell, what is the point of seeing a movie like that? I thought this was going to be a documentary about Starbucks culture, how it gets rid of little coffee shops, and creates so much waste...yadda yadda yadda something Michael Mooreish, but less whiney.

But ust some stupid OCD guy who wants to go to all the Starbucks, and documents it because he's desperate for attention...LAME

Jimmy's right. i was not excited about seeing this with my wife, but ended up being really impressed with the philosophy behind the whole thing (as OCD as the process might be). i recommend giving it 73min before dismissing it as someone's "pathetic" attempt at fame.

That last scene looks like River Oaks.
Anyways, wth kind of hippy name is "Winter?"
