Mar 6 2007Homo Erectus Trailer

Adam Rifkin, writer of the upcoming Underdog, has written, directed, and starred in a "caveman comedy" that appears to be the plot and jokes of a softcore porn without the erotic grinding. I need others to watch this just to tell me if there's absolutely any way this was made any later than 1995. They claim it's new this year, but I don't see how that's possible. Didn't anyone else see this trailer before Reality Bites?

Good lord, you're description did not prepare me for how horrible that trailer was...I actually couldn't finish watching it.

My guess is that now that Heroes is popular they're releasing this because of Ali Larter, otherwise it'd be straight to video.

This was filmed last year in Austin, Tx. Second movie produced by University of Texas's Burnt Orange Production

Reminds me of Ringo Starr's Caveman without the thrilling Caveman dialog...Haraka!

^BINGO! First thing I thought of.

"Caveman" 1981 with Ringo Starr, Dennis Quaid, Shelly Long and Crackerjack man Jack Gilford.

I saw it at the drive-in and later it ran on HBO in the late 80s...

Some very funny bits in it.

It almost looks like Adam Rifkin is playing John Cusak in a film written by Woody Allen (if only it was...)

The Conan the Barbarian music is only 25 years too late, and Jungle Love is maybe... 20 years too late.

wow, my intelligence just lost 2 million years by watching that crap. and did anyone notice Gary Busey? i guess it's where he belongs.

Is it just me or did slapstick like that die out with Laurel & Hardy and the Three Stooges?

Regardless, I hope there's at *least* twice as much random hitting-the-guy-in-the-face humor when this masterpiece hits theaters, then it'll be twice as bad as it looks!

You're all insane, this looks funny as hell. Sure it's not a movie to be taken serious but I laughed my ass off during this trailer.

Gary Busey, David Carradine, Talia Shire, RON JEREMY... a freakin' classic. In 20 years, some washed-up B-grade comedian will be talking up the flick on VH1's "We Are The 00's."

These cavemen are fully literate in English, yet still use sticks and stones? WTF

This movie is hilarious. Rifkin was the genius behind "The Dark Backward" and "Detroit Rock City" I saw this film at the Slam Dance Film Festival this year and it flippin' hilarious the whole way through. Total homage to Woody Allen flicks of yesterday. (as Rifkin is a huge fan.) The most impressive things about it were all the uncredited cameos. (Including Woody Allen himself) It's funny that you bring up "Caveman" because there is a hilarious cameo by Ringo Starr in the film too where he kind of reprises that role. I don't want to give too much away but the "Pot Berries" make a comeback. lol. It's too bad this movie is not getting more publicity as it really is an interesting gem of smart writing and subtle odes to comedic masters of yesterday. (Buster Keaton, Woody Allen, Mel Brooks.) It's definitely a movie for an older crowd that grew up on those flicks and can catch those references.

This reminds me of Terrible Thunderlizards. Either that, or Bug's Life.

I didn't think this movie would be worth a damn ...but I see they got Tom Arnold. That changes everything.

I just went to a premiere of "Homo Erectus" and the movie is hilarious! Adam Rifkin does a great job! It is laugh-out-loud funny! The movie releases in LA and Chicago on July 11th. You seriously need to see it! And check out the movie at www.homoerectusmovie.com.
