Mar 19 2007Brandon Routh Joining Justice League?

When a Justice League movie was recently announced, a big question was how the studio would deal with Superman and Batman's presence in the group since they were already being played by actors in their individual franchises. Well, according to sources at Moviehole, Batman will likely be omitted from the group while Brandon Routh, star of Superman Returns, will likely join this group outing rather than a direct sequel to his film. His starring picture now a huge ensemble piece. This is the casting equivalent of thinking you're going to poop, maybe after a long bout of not pooping but feeling like you had to, but only getting a fart. I feel bad for Brandon Routh, for only getting to fart.

Unbelievable. There is no JLA without Batman. It has to be a budget problem (because money is all that matters), so why not cut the crappy JLA members instead of the bat? What we're going to end up with is a Superman, Black Canary, Plastic Man, and The Question team. Great.

I've got an idea...how about they DON'T make a stupid JLA movie? Just imagine how many "trilogies" they could make if they took on each super hero one at a time. THEN they could make trilogies based on the evil characters from their point of view to tell their stories.

The main problem is still Brandon Routh's inability to portray any human emotion on screen. Just because you look like the deceased actor who used to play a part doesn't mean you're a qualified replacement

In answer to the anti-JLA movie critics: Only 3 members could ever go solo in their own movies (and guess what? The movies have already been done or soon will be). The rest of the JLA is.. kinda boring. Two hours of Green Arrow shooting... arrows. And Flash! Running! But, in an ensemble superhero movie, the audience won't get bored by any hero's powers. Let's applaud the concept of actually using actors associated with a role for these related movies.

I prefer my Batman to stay as far away from these clowns as possible. I don't care if you comic book nerds cry about who funds JLA, they can make up anything they want...just keep Batty away

They should make Kingdom Come. That totally takes one out of that 'save me at the skyscraper' formula and into a mythological gargantuan battle with crimson skies and shit. For those who havent read this graphic novel/comic, you will see Superman as who and how he/it really is, and not just a "who can replace Reeve" summer gone-forgotten piece.
