The Day the Earth Stood Still Remake Coming

day-earth-stood-still.jpg

Fox has confirmed that the '50s sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still, the story of an alien (Klaatu) and his robot (Gort) trying to convince the Earth to live peacefully before it's destroyed, is next in the long plague of remakes headed to theaters. Few other details have been released, but I think it's safe to say Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan will definitely play the alien and robot, respectively.

WTF?!?!?
I have been compiling a list of movies (based on sites like this one) of movie remakes, sequels, prequels, TV adaptations, comic adaptations, etc. and so far I have 51 in 2007 (some may not be made in 2007, just announced, but still, it is only FEBRUARY!). They range from Hannibal Rising (prequel) to Wargames (remake) to Real Genius 2.
Hollywood is remaking movies that were no good then and will be no good now - what movies this year fit into this category and what is the worst possible one?
My choice is Real Genius 2...
