james-brown-spike-lee.jpgSpike Lee has been signed to direct a biopic on the life of James Brown, rewriting a script by Jezz and Henry Butterworth. While it may seem a bit opportunistic for the director to be taking on the project so shortly after the much-publicized death of the soul singer, it's merely a coincidence. Lee has been planning the project for some time and has always hoped to start work on it as soon as he finished murdering James Brown.
