Nov 22 2006Spider-Man 3 Poster

spiderman-3-poster.jpg

Like an emotional high schooler's performance art piece, Spider-Man externalizes his inner duality with elaborate colorful costumes in the new poster for Spider-Man 3. Blue-and-red Spidey likes smiles, punctuality, and watching an hour-and-a-half block of Everybody Loves Raymond from 6 to 7:30 each night. Black suit Spidey likes listening to My Chemical Romance albums, looking down when photographed, and completing MySpace surveys with ironic answers. Which speaks to you? See the movie and find out!

Nov 22 2006The Hitcher Trailer

Sophia Bush reminds us there's occasionally a downside to picking up strange men on the side of the highway (wait--there is?) in the new remake of The Hitcher. Watch the trailer and see the carnage unleashed by just a solitary drifter. It will make you feel justified the next time you randomly attack a vagrant.

It was meant to be an MSN exclusive, so here is the link to their copy.

Nov 22 2006Robert Altman, R*I*P

robert-altman-dies.jpgLegendary director Robert Altman, whose vast catalog of work includes M*A*S*H, The Player and most-recently A Prairie Home Companion, died Monday. With five Academy Award nominations for best director and a lifetime achievement award, Altman is widely-acknowledged as one of the most influential filmmakers of his time. Though the director revealed earlier this year that he had a heart transplant over a decade prior, it was complications from cancer that killed him. Strangely, to get the off-the-cuff feel he was looking for, his death took 54 takes.

Nov 20 2006Peter Jackson Won't Return to Middle Earth

peter-jackson-hobbit.jpgIn a sad letter to the TheOneRing.net, Peter Jackson has confirmed that, due to problems with New Line, he will not be continuing his work on the Lord of the Rings saga with an adaptation of The Hobbit, and the company will find another director. I think a fan captured all our feelings best when he said, "One ring to rule them all, one director should make them all. Now back to waiting in line for something." Well spoken, anonymous nerd. Well spoken.

I've heard some fans are so outraged by the news that they already plan to boycott the movie when it eventually comes out. Sure, just like you "boycotted" the third Star Wars after you got so angry about the first two. Sorry, guys, but seeing it out-of-costume is still seeing it.

Yes, the movie is called Hot Fuzz and, no, there's not a vagina on the poster. Don't ask me--they're British.

Nov 20 2006Poster for Black Christmas (Not Kwanzaa)

black-christmas-poster.jpg

Have you ever left Christmas lights out when your cat was around then leave the room, only to come back to find it all tangled up in them? It's hilarious (and adorable!). Well, that happens with sorority girls too, making the perfect poster for Black Christmas. Here it is.

Fact Christmas: In many fraternities, similarly tied-up sorority girls are used as payment for kegs and Halo 2 victories.
