Since the first magic trick was performed, there has always been a playful but sadly serious rivalry between magicians. Legend says it's how they convince themselves they hold some relevance in society, if only to each other. Today, we still see that same competitive spirit, as greats like David Blaine and Criss "Mindfreak" Angel battle for most retarded publicity stunt, David Copperfield and Lance Burton duel for obscurity, and illusionist partners Siegfried & Roy compete for "topsies." In tribute to these great performers, Christopher Nolan explores a magical feud of the past in The Prestige, starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.
