Aug 9 2006The Last King of Scotland Trailer... Ever!
Moments before his death in August 2003, Ugandan president Idi Amin, responsible for the torture and murder of hundreds of thousands of Ugandans, was playing a party game where everyone had to choose who would play them in a movie. After a military general said "Denzel" to a mixed response, Idi Amin's turn came. "How about 'Ghost Dog'?" Everyone agreed that was good casting, and not just out of the threat of torture and murder. See how right Amin was in this trailer for The Last King of Scotland, starring Forest Whitaker.

So, the trailer wont play for me so someone help me out here. Is this film to show what a true scumbag this guy was or is this film going to show him as liberals view african leaders, you know, as nice guys who are turned evil by Republicans and the Western powers continued destruction of the ozone. Cause, you know, thats whats REALLY holding all those poor African countries back from improving their situations.
and btw.....this site really needs more than one friggin writer.

This book is a work of fiction laced with fact. The Scotish doctor did not exist. The portral of Amin is one based on fact. He became greedy for power. It was no fault of anyone but himself. The lack of a father figure made him want more and more. This is not a book about liberals and conservatives. The author is British. He grew up in Africa and saw first hand the horrors commited by Amin. In reality, 800,000 deaths are attributed to Amin but most of those deaths occured during civil wars after Amin fled the country. He was, however, responsible for hundreds of thousand of deaths. He is very evil, but engaging as are most corrupt leaders. That is how they maintain power.

I can't really tell how sarcastic you're being, uni, but he supposedly named himself King of Scotland.
