First Shot From Stardust

stardust-pfeiffer.jpg

I know there are a lot of Neil Gaiman fans somewhere, so I thought I'd point out that the first production still from the film adaptation of the author's Stardust is online. The film boasts a cast of Robert DeNiro, Peter O'Toole, Claire Danes, and the pictured Michelle Pfeiffer.

Someone will have to tell me if I should be excited about this. The only thing I know about Neil Gaiman was that he did the Sandman series of comics, and that if you mentioned that in high school, you had to sit at a special table where they played Magic.

I've never read Stardust, but I've read two of his other novels, American Gods and Neverwhere. I liked them both a lot.

And I like Sandman too.

I'll go sit at the Magic table now.

Someone will have to tell me if I should be excited about this.

Yes, you should be excited about this. *smiles*

If the movie Stardust is even half as good as the book Stardust - and the book was the single best romance I've read in at least the last five years - then Claire Danes should be a lock for an Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

And if the script and movie are as as good or better than the book, well then, think The Princess Bride.

Yes... the source material is really that magical. The only question is, how good is the script and the movie?

Please, for all of us Stardust fans, keep an eye on this one. *smiles*

*gives bzengo a wedgie and shoves him in his locker*

Dear Average...

Did I mention I'm both a veteran of the 101st Airborne and a former paramedic who worked in the ghetto in Houston, South Tucson, and Oakland for many years? And that this ain't High School anymore. *smiles sweetly*

*kicks locker open with one mighty kick and proceeds to do bad, bad things to your sorry Average self*

In other words, bite me.

Sheesh, nerds are so sensitive...
