Mar 24 2006Vince Vaughn Fighting George Clooney For Magnum P.I.?

magnum-pi-vaughn.jpgThe latest casting rumor regarding the feature adaptation of the popular 80's television series, Magnum P.I., is that Vince Vaughn is now contending with George Clooney for the lead:

The scriptwriter is Rawson Marshall Thurber, who wrote Dodgeball, and there are several other guys on the Magnum movie with connections to Vince. George is still favourite but, as time goes by, Vince's name will be thrown up more and more.

When will these Hollywood big-wigs realize that role of Thomas Magnum isn't the kind you can cast with good looks, star power, or comedic timing. This decision needs to be based solely on a mustache. You find the right mustache and the rest will take care of itself. The same goes for NASCAR drivers and child molesters.

Two great minds thinking one thought. I was toatlly going to go there with the mustach-io. That, and his uncanny ability to pull off short-shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Neither of these two have the legs for the job.
And if they hired a geezer for Magnum, who would they hire for the roll of Higgins? They would have to get Hillerman back in the roll.. which would not be that bad.

why the hell dont they just get Tom Selleck to do it. He basically looks the same O_o

Well, neither one of them can pull of Tom Selleck's package...not to mention his legs. That was some good soft porn for a budding 13 year old.

Another remake that should not have happened. I'll pass.

Phew! For a second there I was afraid Hollywood would have an original thought!

p.s.

Who will play Johnny Fever in the WKRP remake???

Vince Vaughn? Definitely not. He's got a enormous eight-head and always has huge bags under his eyes like he's coming off a coke-fueled bender. (which he most probably has)

I'm with #2. Get Selleck to do it. It's not like he's busy cranking out movies nowadays.

I'll just wait for the Knight Rider movie starring Vin Diesel with Andy Dick as KIT.
