Mar 3 2006Superman in the Daily Planet

Yet another new Superman Returns picture has surfaced, this one showing the Man of Steel on a Daily Planet newspaper, asking where the hero has gone. What I like about the news story in the picture is that it has this huge headline, but really it's not breaking news. Usually you'd reserve this kind of thing for "WORLD WAR II BEGINS!" or something like that. In this case, the story is just, "Hey, hasn't it been a while since we've seen Superman? You know, the guy with the spit-curl? Haven't seen him in a spell. It's been at least a few months. How about that?" Tomorrow's headline is probably, "Remember when slap bracelets were cool? What's the deal?"

Also, if you look closely, you can see Jimmy Olsen in the glass, taking a photo of the photo. That's way meta, dude.

Hmm I don't like it. That Superman doesn't look very super to me. He looks like a wussy.

I'd like to see the whole comic-book-to-movie thing put to rest for at least 10 years, or until it becomes interesting again.

Well thats the trick Mary, all of the hard core comic book lovers and collectors (the ones that grew up with them) are all grown and are in the top earning brackets.
Comic books will never be as popular or as interesting as they were back then.
So they are cashing in on nostalgia before its too late.

No, actually the reason Hollywood is turning every comic into a movie is becuase they've run out of ideas. I mean we've had gay cowboys bashed in our heads so long....

By the way, he'd look more like superman if they made his chin bigger, with CG I guess.

so then this is what superman would have looked like if "queer eye for the super hero guy" got hold of him. this movie looks like crap and incredibly boring crap at that.
