Feb 9 2006Will There Be A Beetlejuice 2?

michaelkeaton.jpgA man at a Disneyland restaurant saw Michael Keaton this past weekend. Seeing that Keaton was "laughing and stuff" with his family, he thought this the perfect time to interrupt him to ask him some things and send it to IESB. Keaton revealed he has a role in Robert Rodriguez's upcoming Project Terror, then both dispelled and created some rumors:

I think I read here once that he was rumored to be playing The Joker in the next Batman movie so I asked him about it. He said that's a 'wonderful idea' but there's 'no way'. The 'new Batman films are separated from the old Batman films', he said. So I asked no chance of you playing Batman again? He said 'No, but there's a big chance you'll see me in another Beetlejuice again'. I asked when....he said 'When Tim Burton finishes the script and when everyone is available at the same time'.

Even if this guy did see Michael Keaton at Disneyland, I'm not so sure I buy into this Beetlejuice sequel. It doesn't seem to me like something Burton would do. I imagine Keaton was saying anything just to get rid of this guy, which would also explain his mention of a role in, "Get the Hell Away From Me and My Family, You Freak." Doesn't that star Harrison Ford?

After the great experience Burton had making Batman Returns he declared that he will never make an other sequel. I would say there will never be an other Beetleguise.

Who ever wrote the article saying you don't believe the guy....you need to do your research little boy. Keaton has said in MANY MANY interviews that he would LOVE to do another Beetlejuice. As long as Burton directs and he likes the script. He said there was a script at one point but he didn't like it. It's all really up to Burton. People need to be asking him not Keaton.

To poster #2: I'm confused. Who is the "little boy"?

But won;t he have the little head from the end of the first one? That won't be very funny...Beetle Juice with a little head the whole time, I mean at first maybe, but after about ten minutes I'll want to shoot myself.

It's in reference to whoever wrote the article. It's me being sarastic and serious at the same time. -_-'

They say they don't buy into this Beetlejuice sequel. Despite the fact that if they had done their research, Michael Keaton has said alot about Beetlejuice 2 in many interviews.

I remember hearing something about the Beetlejuice sequel having him go to Hawaii. I can't even imagine the thought process that was behind that. "Let's do a sequel to Beetlejuice. I'm seeing...Beetlejuice in a flowered shirt on a beach. Yeah, that's nice. Go with that. Write me a script."

Yay! Beetlejuice was an awesome movie (who could forget the dinner scene with the Harry Belafonte music??!) and I'm thrilled that they're going to do a sequel. I hope they get Catherine O'Hara to come back though...wouldn't be the same without her. Maybe this time Beetlejuice will be haunting Wynona's daughter...it has been a while, no?

I wouldn't put it past Timmy to prophet off of a half-assed, suspiciously belated sequel of one of his most popular films. With a few minor word-changes that sentence could apply to Corpse Bride.

"We don't really have much of a story... but it'll look cool as shit and Hot Topic will pick up our merchandise no questions asked..."
