Feb 24 2006Spider-Man's New Costume Unveiled

Sony has finally released an official picture from Spider-Man 3. At first it appears to be a black & white photo of the webslinger, but closer examination reveals this is, in fact, the first shot of Spider-Man's new black costume. Fans of the comic series will recognize the black suit implies the presence of an alien symbiote and Venom story.
I'm not a big fan of Venom, but at least the costume doesn't look as hokey as it could. When my brother started wearing black, he kept attaching chains and safety pins to himself. Though he also started writing bad poetry and listening to a lot of Morrissey, so I think he had a whole other thing going on.

I, as I'm guessing everyone else here, started reading this site b/c of the constant pressuring of thesuperficial, so about a week ago I started reading the post from day one and I gotta say I almost stopped about 15 posts into it, I couldn't figure out if this site was suppose to be funny or not, b/c it was honestly pretty bland and attempts at humor were huge embarrassing failures. But luckily my obsessive personality kicked in and forced me to read the rest of the posts and I gotta say lately they are pretty friggin funny. Keep up the good work.

Ya...your right...the humor is pretty dry and bad. Nothing like The Superficial. I just come here in hopes for some new bits of movie news, and thats it really.
As for the costume WTF?! The symbiote costume isnt supposed to be a black version of the original costume!

P.S.
these guys are usually 2 days late on everything. They just jack news stories from other sites and attempt to make them funny.
Not a good mix in my opinion. The superficial is atleast funny. As for being original...not so much.

normally, something like this would turn me on.
then I remember, Toby Maguire is spiderman and the tingling sensation in my loins is gone.
so much for that.

Here's a question for you:
We're watching TV for 24 hours straight this weekend, switching channels randomly every 15 minutes. How many times do you think we'll see (or hear reference to) Spider Man?
I'll bet it's more than a dozen.

It's the SAME costume from the other 2 movies...it's just in black & white you idiots!!!
...and Spiderman 2 ROCKED!!!

Well, I don't think the other costume was so scaly.
Just saying...

The stories arent the same and neither is the main costume so please stfu about it not being completely right. Im as much of a fangirl as the next comic book lover and collector but movies are a different medium that have to appeal to more than just us geeks.
As long as Stan Lee okays everything Im good with it and considering he was closely involved in the last two Im sure he is happy with this one.

The exact same costume from the 1st two movies--except in black??? What, innovative costume designers aren't on board for this multi-million dollar film venture? Why does this remind me of He-Man figures...each new figure that came out possessed some body part from a previous figure--Skeletor's arms, Beast-Man's feet, He-Man's furry shorts...
My point being: this costume is friggin' boring and unoriginal.

Oh please Average. The original costume did stay true to the comic books. They took very little creative license. But you know who it was. This is just crap.

They changed a lot on the main costume, just because they look like the same colors(they arent even the same colors)doesnt mean it stayed true to the comic.
By the way...

Disregard my above post, apparently this is the real suit according to the official Spidey website. Fabrikated is an ass.

Of course it turned out differently from the comic; two completely different media. What looks cool in a comic book will make a live action actor look like a complete assclown. This is exactly why the costume designer for "X-Men" didn't whip out the yellow spandex, instead opting for black leather for everyone.
That being said, the Spider-Man movie costume from the first couple of movies looks close enough to me. I haven't really looked closely enough to figure out whether the costume's webbing runs in all the same directions as in the comic book, but then I have a life.
