Feb 7 2006Neopets: The Movie

neopets.jpgWarner Bros. has commissioned Rob Lieber to write a script based on NeoPets, which is to be made into an all CG animated film.

Producers are keeping the concept and logline for the NeoPets project under tight wraps. Created in 1991, NeoPets is tracked by millions of kids who log on to take care of their own virtual pets, as well as follow storylines about other pets who populate Neopia.

I still don't really know what a NeoPet is, but the deal makes sense from the website's perspective, since this will be a great way to introduce the site to kids who don't know about it, so that they can then beat-up and mock those kids that do.

That's freakin hilarious. I'll be laughing about that all day!

Neopets is the shiznite! It just teaches kids to raise and love an animal, then force it to fight. yeah...like pokemon...

inky

Something to point out, as obviously the media when releasing a statement in the first place had no idea,
Neopets was creted in 1999, NOT 1991
It is also not a kids site. Neopets is an interactive "web community" which has a multitude of players in all age brackets.

If it's animated, it has to be bad. My brother was playing the video game, and the graphics were so horrible, it made my eyes melt.

Is there really going to be a neopets movie?

I'm 15 and i play it. neopets isnt just for kids. it was originaly created by and for college students that were bored.

3D animation of Neopets? Will this be made a childish film? Or a great action comedy like shrek? XD
