Feb 1 2006Marilyn Manson Is Lewis Carroll
To the delight of parents everywhere, Marilyn Manson is set to direct and star in Phantasmagoria, a film about Lewis Carroll, author of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." The producer, Alain de la Mata, assures us that, "What people expect from Manson, they're going to get here," which I assume means a white latex bodysuit and prosthetic breasts.
I worry about this film. Manson's music has been known to cause teens to act irrationally, even to the point of linking it to school shootings. What if this film creates a similar effect, causing students to read Lewis Carroll, or try to be writers? The last thing we need in our public schools is more kids reading and writing. When will they do drugs, get each other pregnant and, you know, hang out at the mall with friends?

God damn it, first Jefferson airplane, now this moron. It's like re-interpreting Dante's Inferno in order to write an episode of Darma and Greg. The difference between the source and the "person" using it is just too great.

As a fan of both Marilyn Manson and Lewis Carroll, I'm really looking forward to this film. Now I must go listen to White Rabbit.

YES! This is going to be a great artistic film, (imo). Anyone who thinks MM is a moron is just not smart enough to properly understand his art/ways, and is unable to think outside the box. Lots of things make kids do irrational things: my opinion is that the parental guidance should be checked if a kid starts shooting in a school, not his/her music. And besides Manson successfully defended himself against these accusations, so why mention them now?

That's not the point though. Lewis Carrol's masterpiece wasn't some pedophilic drug induced romp, it was a children's book which, like so many other children's books, has a lot of adult content, such as political satire and philisophy and whatnot.
Manson's most likely going to do the same those game makers did, and make some overly dark, ridiculous misinterpretation of the show based more on the work of Jefferson airplane than Charles Dodgson.

I think you guys shouldn't worry about the controversy if you dont like something just dont watch it and stop complaining, GOD! Critics sometimes are a pain in the ass. Let things happen their way. I believe this movie is going to kick ass no matter what. Marilyn Manson is one of the first normal person out there that is really him self unlike other posers.

And yeah I dont like people that make things seem so frustrating like calling MM a moron, that wont get any one anywere. I think that Horror/Mistery
movies are the ones that teach you the most about real life.
